Hi,

Thank you for that information.

So does the run-as-service add-on also function with Windows 8.1?

No, we have a German discription on how to use it like a service in our German discussion board, you might have to translate it via Google Translate:

I've read that, thanks but it was not helpful, i.e. it did not work and we are now using a "real" task scheduler application (advice was a waste of our time).

My question again is, was there any update to the run-as service add-on that might allow it to work with Windows 8, or in the least install on Windows 7?

No, and there won't be a change since it is not anymore possible this way. It works for all other customer in above described way.

AStrobel,

Could you explain how it is supposed to work then please?

As far as I understand, Task Scheduler can only start the program, not run a job or is there something I do not know.

Thanks again

Task scheduler starts BackUp Maker, which still cares about execute jobs. But as I told you, BackUp Maker was not designed to work as a service, so we do not give any technical assistance for it.

There is an add-on in the download page.

My question was quite simple, was the add-on updated or not?
